OK. Let me get this straight. We have a serial liar, who was convicted of being a liar, who has admitted to telling people what they wanted to hear (or at least convey) despite those things being patently untrue, whether or not he’s under oath…
And we’re supposed to believe him now, when he’s telling half that Congressional committee what they want to hear?
I don’t know. I really don’t know. Part of me wants to believe he’s had a “come to Jesus” moment and is cleansing his soul, but part of me is suspicious of anything he says.
It’s pretty much a foregone conclusion that the leftist half of the committee will put a halo on Cohen’s head, and the right will fit him for devil’s horns. And our current media will – in true faux journalistic form – will only present the most salacious bits and pieces and ignore the most substantive – and therefore boring – parts of this story.
Maybe he’s telling the truth. Maybe he’s making it up. Maybe he’ll spell the end of the Trump presidency, maybe he really is acting out of vengeance.
I can only hope the truth will prevail. I have my doubts.
